The Northbridge/Perth entertainment district is a vibrant and wonderful place but also contains darker elements that can affect people negatively. Over indulgence and intoxication does frequently change a night from being good fun into a place of vulnerability and unsafe conditions. The Street Chaplains have an essential role in consciously patrolling and being aware of people who are vulnerable and unsafe and our primary objective is “to care for you when it matters”. Our Street Chaplains are trained to notice signs of vulnerability and equipped to approach these situations with respect while bringing safety and light to potentially harmful situations. We consider it a privilege to look after and help each other on the streets either through practical care or by providing a listening and caring ear to the lonely and distressed.”
